			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Here are some environment sketches I&#8217;m doing for Dudebro II. The visual style of the environments is much more serious than what the environments will actually look in 3D, but at least they work to get an idea of the very general mood.</p>
<p>This first sketch is for one of the corridors in Stage 1-2. The final version in 3D will be a bit lighter and with some more blood, while still trying to make it look not very gore (gore is not my style, definitely).</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This week I&#8217;m collaborating on the Creature of the Week #168 over at the <a href="http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=182023">ConceptArt forums</a>.</p>
<p>The theme this time is completely free, so I started doing some basic shape silhouettes:</p>

<p>Number 1 is meant to be some sort of sea centipede with long membranes attached to his body.</p>
<p>Number 2 is&#8230; I seriously don&#8217;t know what it is, actually. Maybe some sort of flying creature with a long head, like a hummingbird.</p>
<p>Number 3 is a long and thin creature with a head similar to number 2 or a seahorse.</p>
<p>Number 4 is some sort of flying creature (even though I didn&#8217;t paint the wings, they are meant to be like many insects&#8217; wings, translucent). Small legs and membranes hanging from the bottom area of the body.</p>
<p>Number 5 is completely different. It&#8217;s meant to be a very heavy creature, sort of like an elephant. It has some horn decoration and on his back he has dermal plates.</p>
<p>After I&#8217;ve decided on one &#8216;theme&#8217;, I will create some more silhouettes and then work from there.</p>

All the renders with the UDK logo means that the renders are made within UDK using materials created in UDK too, using my own textures made in Photoshop.</p>
<p>This very first model is an oil drum. It has 248 polygons (top and bottom are beveled). It also uses currently a 1024&#215;1024 texture (that can easily be downscaled to 512&#215;512) for the diffuse and another for the normal map. It also has a detail normal map that&#8217;s 128&#215;128 pixels. The specular is the diffuse with the color slightly modified from within UDK.</p>

<p>Here is one of the first sketches to get some idea and practice before I start doing all the main stuff. After I get a couple props done and looking nice, I will start with the characters!.</p>
<p>This first concept sketch is for one of the various props around the map in the game. It&#8217;s a Holo-Table, which I loved from the movie Avatar. Tried to make my own version and now I&#8217;m working on the 3D model!.</p>
